Accredited Employer Work Visa

The Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) has been introduced by New Zealand Immigration in 2022.

Skilled Migrant Category

This visa requires you to pass a points test and to meet the applicable pass mark.

You must be younger than 56 years and have good English language ability. Your occupation must be listed on the List of Skilled Occupations. An Expression of Interest (EOI) is required. People whose EOI has been drawn from the pool might be invited to apply for permanent residency.

Work to Residence Category

A visa of this category is valid for up to 2.5 years, after which you might apply for a permanent visa. The following visa options exist:

  • Talent (Accredited Employers) – For persons with an offer of employment by an accredited New Zealand employer.
    You should be younger than 53 years. The job offered must be for a full-time position and for a certain minimum time period. The salary offered must meet set salary requirements.
  • Long Term Skills Shortage List (LTSSL) – For persons who have an occupation listed on the LTSSL. A New Zealand based employer must have offered you a job. You should be younger than 53 years.

This visa is closed for new applicants.

 

Essential Skills visa (temporary)

This visa is for persons who have been offered a job by a New Zealand based employer where the position could not be filled by a New Zealand based worker.

This visa is closed for new applicants.

 

Silver Fern visa

This is a temporary visa for persons between 20 and 35 years of age who intend to find long-term skilled employment. The minimum qualification requirements are: Bachelor or higher degree or alternatively a recognised trade qualification with a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
